Medical Alert: Leptospirosis outbreak in Maricopa County

It has been brought to our attention that there has been an increase in cases of the deadly disease, Leptospirosis in Maricopa County, with the most recent outbreak at a Fountain Hills Dog Park and a North Scottsdale boarding facilty. This disease is also communicable to humans through exposure to infected urine.

The Arizona State Veterinarian is highly recommending prophylactic vaccination for our canine patients that go to dog parks, boarding facilities, agility and dog shows, or patients that participate in hunting and ranch work; anywhere there will be the possibility of a shared water source.

If your dog participates in the above exposures please call 602-971-2720 to schedule the vaccine series as soon as possible.
