Peanut Butter, Dangerous to Dogs?

A lot of people use different methods to give dogs their medicine. One very common method is peanut butter and it just got very dangerous! It has just been brought to our attention that some nut butters and peanut butters are now including a very dangerous additive for dogs called xylitol. Even in small amounts it is highly toxic to pets. Please make sure that you are not giving your pets  access to anything with xylitol. A better replacement would be pill pockets, fat free cheese, bread etc. There are a lot of calories in nut butters and fat that could cause many problems including pancreatitis for pets. Better to stay with a low calorie, low fat, xylitol free way to give medications. Below are links from reputable sites that further explain the dangers of xylitol.
